Hey, I really like tsubasa resevoir chronicle. I got the first volume a while back and now am revisiting to more. I'm kinda mad though because i think the volume i got was edited. But i had a question.
Is it like a length of shounen series like naruto, bleach, dbz..etc? I just wanted to know because i love those types of series but i didn't want to get it single volume because funimation always comes out with box sets once the single discs are finished.
But also on to a disscusion, do you like it. What are your opinions. I love this series and think its one of the most creative series with the differnt dimensions. I love the japan world.
And last if you've seen the movie or OAV- what did you think? Unortaneutaly i didn't get a chance to see either but since the movie's out in english dub i am going to wait. I'm just 4 bucks off. But also the OAV tokyo revalations looks sweet.\
So, can't wait for you responses -

I'm pretty sure there are 2-26 episode series. I personally thought the anime was a little bland. I made it all the way through the first season, but only watched a couple episodes of the second because I just wasn't interested enough anymore in what happened.
I have seen the movie and enjoyed it more than the TV series because it had a nicely contained plot. Plus, Funimation is releasing it as a double feature with the xxxHolic movie, which was great.

Yeah, there are two anime series, each 26 episodes. There is also a movie, which is not connected to anything else, so you can wacth it whenever. The best part of the series is the 3-part OVA, which is the latest part of the manga to be animated, and is really well done, covering the "holy $%#!" climax to the storyline, which takes place in X's Tokyo (but of course you probably want to read or watch up to that point before watching the OVA).

I watched the first 15 episodes subbed before I finally dropped it because while I did like it, it was such a chore to watch. I just could not motivate myself to finish it. However a month ago I came accross all 6 volumes for season 1 at Best Buy and thought "Eh, what the heck". So I bought them and watched them, they flowed MUCH better for me with the English dub and consequetively in chunks rather than individual episodes. I aquired season 2 and watched that after. The best part as mentioned above is the Tsubasa Chronicle: Tokyo Revelations OVA which was by far the best and most entertaining of the franchise. I also watched the film but found it mosty unimpressive, the xxxHolic movie that came with it was much better, however. Ultimately though there is no conclusion to this thing yet and they haven't found all the feathers and the Revelations OVA kinda performs a restart with the "real" Shouran joining them and Fai now a vampire and missing an eye.
I just worry that they've proverbally dug themselves too deep a grave that they won't be able to climb out of. I mean, now there are several seekers of the feathers they have to compete against and get rid of as well as collect all the feathers, and find and defeat the other Shouran and there's the fact that the Shouran and Sakura relationsship was snappped back to the drawing board like a rubber band which they have to build up again. If there's more I'd say we'd be in for the long haul.

Kruszer, do you read the manga? If not, I highly recomend it (you can start with the end of Volume 14 if you want to read the Tokyo Revelations arc, or with Vol 18 if you want to start after the OVA ends). I'm not sure when, or if any of that would get animated, but it really heads off running from where the OVA leaves off, and it really feels like the series is going to end within the next few volumes, perhaps around Volume 25 or so?

I think I read that they said it's going to be finished by the time they start their experimental simultaneous Japanes/English release manga to begin publcation next year, so I would guess that both Tsubasa and Holic are going to have to be finished very soon now.
I'm holding off on picking up the first seasons of Tsubasa and Holic because a) I literally don't have space for anything that would take up more room than thinpacks and b) as far as I know we haven't gotten confirmation yet that the second seasons are coming to region 1. I do look forward to watching both when the time comes though, and I hope we get the Tsubasa OVA because from what I've read it sounds like it came out extremely well.

The thing is, that with a few exceptions the anime has been made to flow kinda like the manga. The second season had a bit of a change but it was one I didn't really mind so much. Both the manga and the anime are kinda tedious up until the Tokyo Revelations point in both instances where you FINALLY get to the heart of the story.
I highly recommend reading the Tsubasa manga while you're watching the series, and also it would be too bad of an idea to probably read xxxHolic while you're at it. You'd be amazed at how much the two series flow in and out of each other at some points and how certain things make more sense.
At this point Tsubasa is at 23 volumes and there seems to be end in sight from the way the recent chapters have been but, it's CLAMP they can drag us along for as long as they like anymore

Not only a good idea Masayume, but pretty much mandatory as of Holic volume 11, which has indicated that Watanuki and (by extension) Domeki are apparently going to become heavily involved in the struggle against Fei Wang Reed, with Yuko's shop becoming an eventually besieged Command Central for our good guys. My personal guess is that the boys will run defense for the Tsubasa gang's offense, since I would be very surprised if it isn't Kurogane who takes the creep down since they've sort of been building up to that.
Indications are that both series are going to start crossing over much more heavily - perhaps to the point that reading both is unavoidable to keep from becoming completely lost. (Not that I mind since I like both, but a pretty sneaky thing to do to anyone who doesn't care for one or the other, since the early volumes of the series indicated on the back covers that they would make reference to eachother at times but not be inextricably intertwined)

I have noticed a lot of XXXHolic refs in Tsubasa lately, I don;t read that series so I just kind of guess at what's going on on that end.

No, I don't really read much manga. I follow Bleach, Claymore, Gunslinger Girl, Hellsing, Lunar Legend Tsukihime, and Suzuka as they come out but that's about it for what I actively collect. Manga is not really a priority for me and I don't set aside much money for it. Maybe I will start though if I finish something. It's hard to find the time for manga though because I read lots of novels and watch even more anime, and work, and go to college.

I just finished episode 7 and have found that the action is nice to have but really am now watching it for its powerful story and just to say mokona is awesome.
Saw the 3 part OVA- WOW!!! I was just simply blown away by the story and all that reveals. But i'm kinda ticked off now that i spoiled a lot of the TV series.
