I never thought this would happen, but Amazon added a listing for it. It's quite a steal too at $34.99 with free shipping. Sure beats any of the prices I've seen. Go pre-order that sh*t! I'm crossing my fingers and praying it comes with the first pressing perks.

Eh, it's really not a good price though unless you're serious about spending a lot of money on anime. Because that's the price per episode. Two-hundred dollars for the equivalent of 12-14 episodes just doesn't sound appealing at all. I'm sure it'll sell to extreme fans, like the ones who bought MS IGLOO, but most people will probably just ignore it.

That price is absolutely amazing! Weren't you the one pissed that we would be have to pay Japanese prices?? Well guess what... we don't!! Websites like CD Japan and Yes Asia are asking $50+. There's no excuse for not buying it at that price.

Yeah but that's the thing. The only reason you find that price reasonable is that we all thought we'd be stuck paying $50. But really, even $35 for a mere 50 minutes of content is extremely high.

Pretty much, it's more than I'd be willing to pay for the entire set.

This is anything but reasonable. The money I would have churned out for this would be better spent on half-season box sets. I am a Gundam fan but even this is ridiculous. I understand that it is a good deal but it is not good enough.

When is Bandai Visual going to learn that this business model is not going to work in R1 markets?

Ehh, it's high but is this show a high quality production? If so I don't really mind, I just don't know what to think of it yet. It looks like it has a dub though so I will probably buy at least one of them since I haven't seen it online (not really looked to be honest).

I hope someone posts it online so I can check it out.

Wow... I really don't know what to say... Shocked Seems that some of you won't be satisfied unless it's given to you for free. Quality anime doesn't come cheap, especially something as highly anticipated as this.

Yes, maybe. But there is quite a difference between reasonable and unreasonable. For 50 minutes of OVA animation on BluRay, something like $24.99 would seem reasonable for most people. It's not a matter of us thinking it was $50, and then completely relieved when it turns out to be $15 less, it's a matter of either of those prices still being too high. $35 is only slightly less worse. Go ahead and call us greedy and not true fans, but it's too expensive for what it is.

Greedy? Nope. True fans? Never implied that. Cheap? Extremely. Let me remind you of exactly what you are getting, and please quit basing the price solely on the amount of minutes (and BTW, its actually listed as 60 minutes). A collectors booklet and first pressing cardboard slipcase (still trying to find out if Amazon is participating) are included as well, not to mention its a BLU-RAY OVA quality release with a English dub and sub! This is a Japanese quality product at a non Japanese quality price, hence my use of the word resonable! Before you completely throw out the idea of buying it sit back and think about it first. When have we ever had an opportunity like this?? Never, (well actually we did back when BVUSA was around..) and we probably won't ever have it again. It's only going to be listed on Amazon for a limited period of time, so really, think about it. I didn't start this thread for everyone to complain about BV's pricing or outright announce they aren't going to get it. I just wanted people to know that they are other (less expensive) options if you were interested in pre-ordering this title. All I know is that when March 12th comes around, I'll be sitting back with some friends watching my copy. Hope ANN or Crunchy streams it for the rest of you Wink

I can't say I've ever even seen Gundam, but I still think it's on the expensive side. Sure you get an hour of a sub and dub, maybe with some mighty fine cardboard, but aren't most US blu-ray films released with multiple subtitle options, extras, twice as long, and still cheaper? Ehhh, unless it was a show that I loved and adored more than anything else and had no option to buy it any other way (like, a regular DVD set) I wouldn't go for this pricing either.

The main thing that will delay me on purchasing this is that I know nothing about UC. Every show I've watched thus far that's Gundam was not UC, and unfortunately I'm one of those picky sorts who can't go back and watch extremely old anime because it doesn't look good at all to me. My limit is about Dragon Ball Z level, and even that's pushing it these days.

I'll probably try to do some net searching on story synopsis so I can get caught up to whatever this is supposed to be about. I did some reading on Macross prior to watching Frontier (for much the same reason) and I really enjoyed that show.

That may be the case, but do remember that not everyone actually wants the extras, especially when it raises the price. I like to use my mom as a good example- a diehard trekkie for decades, when the new movie came out I found her all sorts of sales and deals on various limited editions... and she wanted no part of it. It was just useless trinkets to her. She wanted the movie, that's the only part she really cared about (and was quite happy with the $10 copy from Amazon).

I wouldn't worry too much about nice LEs going away, though. There'll always be a market for folks willing to spend extra for the trinkets... it's a good way to get extra sales out of a product, after all. I won't be buying this- but it's becuase I don't watch much Gundam. Give me a fancy LE of a show I want, though, and I'm all over it!
