This is kind of what I've been waiting for. I've actually been waiting on 1) confirmation of an art box at all and 2) I was actually hoping it'd be just the box since I can score the singles for cheap from various places. Now I just hope the box matches or at least compliments the Geneon art box (and now I need to get that one too...guess I'm throwing my thinpak into the sell pile). |

Rurouni is 95 eppies and at $160, that means a per episode cost of roughly $1.70, which is far from outrageous. Now $80 for Ikki Tousen's 13 episodes ($6.15 per eppie)? That's just cahzayzee. |

I think he's upset because they're charging that much with the third season included and the third season was nothing but filler and a lot of people don't like it. It's kind of like how some people won't buy Haruhi 2 because they don't want to pay for Endless Eight. Maybe he doesn't want to have to pay for the third season?
Also, with art boxes becoming a thing of the past and dubs slowly disapperaing, I'll gladly pay that price for Ikkitousen because it has both. It's not like I'll be paying anything close to MSRP anyways |

Yu Yu Hakusho. 112 episodes. 4 boxsets. Around $20 for each boxset. Yeah. Even with the economy, anime is getting a little bit cheaper - even Faildai is packing their releases into two-disc sets, and selling at a relatively fair price. Media Blasters is the only one who seemingly hasn't caught on. Oh well. Hopefully Best Buy, or something will fix up the price - like how they rationalized those Moribito price tags into much more....consumer friendly prices. |

Well, yea they're $20 each if you go by TRSI's weekly specials price. They MSRP at $34.98 * 4 = $140....which is actually still cheaper. Look at that.

No. I got them for $20 at FYE - brand new. They're $25 a pop at Best Buy, clocking in at $100 for the entire show. No TSRI specials here. |

Hey braves, you should probably edit your OP thusly:
*Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny Premium Box Set 05-25-2010 300 mins $79.99 I was confused and thought that it was a re-issue of the first Ikki Tousen series. Anyhoo, TRSI is currently offering it for $60 and if you have the Got Anime membership (which I do), that would bring it down to $54. Still an ungodly price for 13 eppies as far as I'm concerned. The Funi first season Ikki Tousen is going for $37.50 at TRSI (although when I bought it from them last May, I only paid $25) and that's 13 episodes as well. I defo want the Dragon Destiny box set but I'll wait until it's a bit more in my price comfort zone. Last edited by Blood- on Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:14 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I'd pay that much to get Kenshin again, even though it wasn't that much originally if they actually made decent quality video this time... the original release was horrible quality.

Add a TRSI special on top of that Rurouni Kenshin set, and it may just slip into the price window I will feel like putting out. If not, I'll just wait for the litebox version.
Also, that is a good price for Tweeny Witches (esp. once you add on some sort of discount)--a show I enjoyed a lot. |

You have to remember, though, that by the time Funimation released it, it was the 4th time (Geneon singles, Geneon complete collection, Geneon Thinpak and then the Funimation box set) so of course it's going to be cheaper. If you wait for it to hit the weekly specials it'll probably be 42% off and about $46. |
