Around February I heard about XXXHOLIC and Tsubasa. Not much was known about them in America because it wasn't translated yet. I found out Del Rey licensed them and I bought the books the days they came out. They're both great series.
If anyone knows any good sites or just wants to post about CLAMP and their lesser known series then please do so. If you want to learn about it then I can tell you about it. |

Funny, I was commenting on CLAMP just today ... http://www.livejournal.com/~mrpata/237851.html
and XXXHolic >> Tsubasa. Recycling old characters = cheap superhero gimmick! >.< |

I like XXXholic better than Tsubasa. I found Tsubasa a little boring.

It is kinda cool though. The characters play a big part and the story is really good.
have you read it yet? |

XXXholic is the better. I love Tsubasa, but the storyline has been done before, and it has fights that can continue over a couple chapters which I don't usually like. I also find the art in XXXholic more appealing.

Yep ... one of my friends even said that Tsubasa is practically Kingdom Hearts, and even KH is a manga now.
I prefer XXXHolic because of its faux-mysticism, and being less shonen-esque than Tsubasa ... basically I feel smarter after having read a volume of XXXHolic, because they're always talking about fate and stuff.

I own both XXXHolic and Tsubasa and enjoy them both to a great amount. But clearly XXXHolic is just more entertaining and more enjoyible(sp?) to read. Sucks to have to wait for volume 3 to come out.
I own 2 volumes of XXXHolic and the first of Tsubasa. (which is the only one currently out in the US) I've owned the first volume of XXXHolic since in came out and I can't stop reading it. The second volume is also good too. Waiting for the third is going to be a tough task. Well, better than downloading it. |

I'm really enjoying both actually. I love the crossovers mentioned in both, but to a greater extent, both strories have some strong suits going for them. While the XXXholic has the odd and strange mysticism going on with it and captivates me with the "strange bedfellows" concept, Tsubasa does something different and takes characters you know and portrays them in such a way that you begin to wonder if you ever really knew them in the first place.

I've read two volumes of xxxHOLiC... and two of Tsubasa: RESERvoir CHRoNiCLE. I must say that I was more impressed with xxxHOLiC than Tsubasa... xxxHOLiC's art style was more appealing, and I liked the characters.
