Mion has a pistol in one of those shoulder holsters. Not only does she never use it, but not a single word is spoken about it. Why?

Why use a pistol when you can use a needle, knife, large rock, taser, hammer, or a fingernail-torture machine?

Yeah, why shoot someone in the temple when you can use a needle, knife, large rock, taser, hammer or fingernail torture machine? |

The so-called "pistol" is actually an airsoft gun which Mion uses to shoot Keiichi with in the Higurashi manga to get his attention with at one point. Considering the anime had a habit of glossing over some major elements of the game's storyline, this was likely overlooked by the anime's creators.

Lame. Why bother drawing it if they have no intention of ever using it? |

Perhaps they didn't want to alter the character designs drastically.
Whilst I agree it seemed a bit of a red herring, it didn't take anything away from the anime, at least not for me. I'd have it as a 'niggling curiosity' rather than a 'pressing question'. It's not THAT big a deal That said, I'm glad it's been cleared up here. |

That's true, and yet incomplete. On select occasions, it's not an airsoft gun, but a taser. - abunai |

Then again, good ol' Anton was right about the bazooka in Kick-Ass. - abunai |

I think one of the TIPS probably has an explanation. Though I haven't played all the games. It explains most things like that. It's just there as a deterant against assaulting her, like her sister carrying a stun gun. Her family undoubtably have enough enimies.

Shion's preferred weapon was indeed the Taser. The reason people get them confused is spoiler[because Shion switches places with Mion for a good portion of the story arcs.]

It was never a taser, which was stored in the hip pocket. You can see her pull the taser from the hip pocket in episode 16 of the first season, when she was accosted by punks. [1] Last edited by Boomerang Flash on Tue May 25, 2010 8:05 pm; edited 1 time in total |
