does anyone know of a manga/graphic novel masters program in Seoul, Korea that is taught in English? thanks

Well... maybe if you looked for 'manhwa' and tried to use the Korean terminology you'd have better luck?
Though seriously, details would be key? Are you in Korea now? Why does it have to be in English? Masters program?! You already got a B.A. in manga or something? Whelp. Maybe some posters from Korea can help you more, but you're still going to have to be more specific. Meanwhile, if you're not in Korea, I'd suggest checking out local programs first and foremost. Never mind that I've never heard of a masters in comic books. I was under the impression that you go from a bachelors, or with manga whatever the equivalent is, right into the industry and train on the job. Plus in Japan, and I believe Korea too, the norm is to train as an assistant to a more known artist on their series. Of course every manga / manhwa / comic creator has a different path to success. And, above all else, just learn to draw and write, period. Learn how to draw characters. Learn how to write stories. It's doesn't have to be for manga / comics. Take a figure drawing class, learn anatomy. Take a writing course, learn how to write a story. Forget about manga and mechs and all the catchphrases and tropes. Learn the basics of storytelling and drawing first and foremost. |
