I want to say it's a common phrase as I've heard it several different ways, at least the subtitles word it slightly different.
This isn't a Saiyuki Specific question necessarily, but that's the anime I'm currently watching. Saiyuki Reload: Burial - Goku's chapter, 22:39 minutes into it. I can't get a handle on what Sanzo says. I'd really like the Romanji if anyone understands Japanese enough to know. I've tried looking it up myself but am finding it rather impossible. "I could never leave someone like you alone." Sanzo to Goku after he reverts back from demon form. I've also heard them say: 'As if I could ever leave you alone.' I'll have to rewatch some of the anime I've watched lately to see if they say it different in Japanese or if it's really that common. I know this is a shot in the dark but if anyone could help me I'd appreciate it. |

世話を焼かせやがる
Sewa wo yakase-yagaru 世話を焼く in the causative form (to give one trouble) with the suffix やがる (indicates hatred and contempt, i.e., makes you sound tough). *Attaches to the te-form or the masu-stem of a verb. The translation you provided is much more contextual than literal. I wouldn't call it a common phrase, but it does pop up from time to time. |
