I can only hope that this is the first step towards an official release of Mother/Mother 3 and re-release of Mother 2 here in the US.
I especially loved part 3 so much...

Just don't expect it to come out in America, or really anywhere outside of Japan. Not because Nintendo holds a petty grudge against the franchise, it simply never sold enough. I won't link to them, but the biggest EB fan sites have all the little, interesting details.

This is one news I had yet to expect any time soon, I thought Mother 3 was the last game of the series, as that I what I heard some odd years ago. Meaning that series was more or less finished and done with. Maybe not, but it's been a long time, years even since I heard any Earthbound related news.
Please Nintendo, in the very rare chance you read ANN forums, please license and translate this please. There is nothing more I'd like to do again but to play another Earthbound game, even if it's a re-release.
I am not oblivious to finer details that sites such the fan sites you can find online and I know that the chance of ever seeing this game in North America is rather slim, but I'd still like to play Earthbound again.
