I've noticed that the 2013 Anime Mirai anime are listed as OAVs, while the ones from previous years are listed as movies. My understanding is that the Anime Mirai anime are both given limit theatrical showings and shown on TV as specials. As such, I would think designating them as movies or specials would make sense, but I don't think the 2013 ones should be designated as OAVs. I think the 2013 ones are being distrubted first in theaters (based on the ANN encyclopedia pages currently listing a theatrical release date), so movie might make the most sense.
Also, it looks like the 2012 releases (BUTA, Shiranpuri, Wasurenagumo, and Puka Puka Juju) were shown first on TV rather than in theaters, while the 2011 releases were shown first in theaters then on TV. I don't know if that means that the 2012 releases should instead be listed as specials rather than movies. It kind of makes more sense to me to list them all the same way, as they were all released in bascially the same format (i.e. all were released both theatrically and on TV), but I don't know what ANN's policy on that is. I think leaving the 2012 releases as movies would be fine, but just wanted to point out that they apparently were shown on TV first in case that would mean they should be designated as specials. |

I did some work on Aruvu Rezuru, although I have no memory of actually doing it (I do know why, since it was covered in the spotlight). I assume is listed as an OVA because of this news article.
