I wonder what they're aiming for with the new movies. The first movies were quite different from the novels (the novels, at least the first two, seemed more sci-fi than horror).

I loved the Ringu movies, but this looks like another 3D movie just for the sake of doing a 3D movie, which I detest. There's a reason why hardly any electronics companies were halking 3D teles at the last 3E convention like they were back in '07.
