So I've been reading this in Shonen Jump and for the most part it seems like a really bad Gantz ripoff. I hardly understand how this got in the magazine.

It's nothing like Gantz.
And it gets better later on. Though it ended up like crap and got canceled after 16 volumes. The ending was pretty decent though, from what the author had to work with.

I'm liking it so far. It's not amazing, but it's enjoyable. I'm just glad they went with Psyren for the magazine instead of Nura. That thing is is just unreadable.

I found the first half of the first volume of Nura a bit slow and boring, but the second half left me know how the story is going to go forward, therefore I am looking forward to vol 2. If it is slow again, I will stop buying it.
As for Psyren, if they have started putting it into SJ, are they going to be releasing the series in Tankoben? I much prefer to read manga series 3-4 chapters at a time rather than 1.
