Dammit, just...something in my eye. Crying or Very sad

That's such a sweet gesture. Rock on, Japan. Rock the hell on.

In times of despair we find refuge in entertainment. Airing shows for the kids might not sound like that big a deal, but I'm sure those kids will appreciate the distraction. Smile

I've got something in my eye...

It's sweet that anime companies are reaching out to kids after what happens. after disasters occur, kids need things that are familiar and comforting to them, and for these kids, anime is one of those things.

Japanese studios and stations have decided to restore and even broaden some children's programming — anime in particular — to comfort kids.

If so, Madoka Magica should also join its ranks. After all, wasn't it made with the intention of being a "cute healing anime"? Laughing

Sorry, couldn't help it... that would be really honest-to-goodness terrible if it was. Can you imagine all the scarred childhoods that would result from it airing several hours earlier in the day?

Seriously, though, this is a good thing that's being done. Reading this, I somehow feel worse about my expressed frustration over those other delays of anime. It is in times like these that little kids need comfort the most, and reacquainting them with this could help to ease the pain in a few respects. Us older anime fans? We ought to be able to better cope with this stuff.

This is very heart warming. Now that that the chaos has been calming down the kids in Japan definitely need something to keep their spirits up and get their minds off the disaster. I applaud the TV/Music stations for reaching out to the children.

Cause the last thing we needed was kids being even more depressed when hearing a Barney song.

Comfort comes to people in many ways. This is a good idea to get the kids through these rough times.
