This one is adapted from the novels and not from the manga, both the manga and the anime are adapted from the novels.

We have many titles with that problem, notably Scrapped Princess, Full Metal Panic!, MariMite, Crest/Banner of the Stars, and Read or Die. Furthermore, there are game-adapted anime/manga pairs, such as Tsukihime, ToHeart, Gunparade March/Orchestra, etc. Before the Encyclopedia could accept novel and game entries, those pairs were linked one way or another according to their production time and similarities to the original medium.
