I read the preview in Shonen Jump and just bought volume one yesterday, but haven't got to read it yet.
Is this a series worth staying with it?
And I have another question but it has to do with the anime, but I won't make another topic there.
So does anyone know when the anime will come out in America?

The anime has not been licensed in the US yet. I would expect any such announcement in the upcoming Con season.

I would say that Black Cat is definitely worth staying with, but I should also point out that I'm more than a little biased in favor of the series. It's one of my favorites, and I was ecstatic when I learned it was being brought to the United States.
The license for the anime is still up in the air. FUNimation has implied that they may have the rights to the series, but there hasn't been official word in either direction. I'm guessing that it will probably be announced in the upcoming convention season, although there's nothing definite.

The animation qualities are pretty bad, at least for me, and it looks like they rejuveniled every character making many of them look like children, which I suppose are the target audience for it no no, j/k. I just didn't like the series. The manga is definetly better. |
I hear mixed things on the anime, but I always hear the manga is better. Seeing as I do enjoy the anime, I'm pretty excited to get ahold of the manga and see where it goes. Hopefully I'll see it tomorrow.

Well have fun
It may not be the most ambitious title out there but it "has its moments".

I personally thought the manga was better, because Train starts off evil. It is just so hardcore. =P

I don't know what you mean by "evil"...you may need to rethink that statement.

I checked out the manga after I watched some of the anime (which I did enjoy). I was kind of dissappointed though; the character designs were really ugly. Well the girls looked pretty good, but Train and Sven looked as though they got hit upside the head with the ugly stick.
I enjoyed the adapted anime art much more. Train has too many highlights in his hair (in the manga), my eyes are hurting.

The manga wasn't too bad, I definitely enjoyed it. However, as the volumes progess, my complaint is that things get very repeptitive sometimes. For example, when the author takes shortcuts during scenes where characters are filling each other in on what happened, the way it is done ("Oh, I see.") gets a bit boring and unorgininal. Overall it's still a fairly good manga for its genre. Creativity and orginiality is not this manga's strongest point, although the theme of the weapons' design is unique. I didn't notice any problem with Train's hair being too bright, but maybe I just didn't pay attention.

Don't worry about that too much, the character designs evolve over the course of the series and improve greatly. It is a 20 volume series after all, this is quite common in long running series.
^ Volume 1 on the left and volume 20 on the right.

It starts out looking pretty strange... Though, nefadol said, the art becomes a lot better. It doesn't take too long. In volume 4 or 5, the art changes a lot for the better, though some characters still look a tad weird. By volume 10, the art completely rocks and by the end it's just perfect for the series. It's a great series to stay into, and the story in the manga is far, far better than the anime's.
