I've got a question regarding entering company names for international publishers.
There's this company Panini Comics who publishes quite a lot of manga in several countries. Mostly the name of the manga subdivision is used, and this is also printed on the books (in the colofon, you can always find the reference to Panini, of course). My question is : should we always enter "Panini" as publisher, or rather use the local subsidiary's name ? In the latter situation, the problem is that sometimes this manga subdivision has the same name in more than one country (see the list below). How can we distinguish the company for different countries ? These are the companies involved (as it is printed on the book): Génération Comics (France). Planet Manga (Italy and Germany). Panini Manga (Spain). |
