These videos are incredibly addictive for me. I used to be a huge Melee fan back in the day, and seeing this documentary really puts a lot of the old tournament scene (that I didn't know too much about at the time) into perspective. I think I may have actually played against m2k in a local Brawl tournament, not even realizing his history in competitive Smash.
I also like the balance in these videos between the competition and the human story. Seeing the personal journeys of the various top-tier players creates a lot more depth than I would have thought possible for a gaming documentary. |
