I've recently started collecting some of the 1/7 (and around that scale) PVC figures for various anime series but I'm having trouble finding a good source. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I've read recently that there are actually bootlegs for some figures out there!

I don't really know that much about the figures and I'd hate to pay a high price for a PVC of a favorite character only to recieve a low quality piece of crap bootleg. It's not too hard to avoid bootleg DVDs but I'm not even sure how to evaluate the figures.

Anyway, can someone point me in the direction of a reliable, honest, source for figures? Anyone that discounts is a plus but what I want most is certainty that I'm not being ripped off.

Thanks!

www.hlj.com is probably your best bet.

U.S-wise, bigbadtoystore.com is also reliable and doesn't stock bootlegs.

TRSI has also recently started carrying a rather large selection of PVC figures, so I'd recommend check their online store as well.

I used to order a lot of Gundam plastic models from www.hlj.com . They charge you your first born child for shipping though, considering it ships from japan on a ship.

I'd like to get into figure collecting at some point, but I simply lack the display space until I graduate and move out.

Thank you for the advice! I will check these sites out.

Does anyone know how best to go about verifying if something is a bootleg or an original PVC figure? If I spot a really good deal on eBay, I'd like to be able to take it.

Thanks again!

I'm, not sure how much they carry that you'd want, but FreeBento.com is a nice site. (And they throw an extra something-or-other into your order too. Very Happy )

Tokyo Fantasy I tried getting the Galhound statues all over the internet shops. No one had them and I wanted to avoid ebay.

I contacted Winston from Tokyo Fantasy and he got them for me, even the rare first version, at a great price.

And he is very communicative, he will also help me find the new Intron Depot SSAT Police statue that will be released in November.
