That is my list of what I have seen. Harem: I'm looking for a good harem anime/manga. It'd be good if there was some elements of ecchi among them. I'm looking for things similar to: SHUFFLE! Maburaho Ichigo 100% (manga) Drama: I'm looking for a good drama anime. I'm looking for a drama that is along the lines of: Air Iriya no Sora Hantsuki Thank you for the help. |

Harem - Love Hina was pretty good. Good story about a guy trying to get into a college while living in an all girls dorm.
Drama - Honey & Clover. My favorite anime. An amazing story about the college love lives of 3 guys and 2 girls. Both the romance and the comedy are top notch. Non-anime Drama (Remove if it is against the rules to post this) - Nobuta wo Produce. Better than any anime I have ever watch, but gives you that feeling that you have when you watch an anime. Basically in my terms "a non-anime anime." |

I can do meet both recomendations with 1 show!
Hana Yori Dango, or Boys Over Flowers, is a shoujo take on the typical harem show. It's about a poor girl named Makino Tsukushi, who's going to the elite Etoku High School with some of Japan's richest kids. As I said, it's not your typical harem show, as it stars a girl, and is much more drama focused than comedy. Unfortunately, the animation is quite dated by today's standards (especially what is quite possibly the cheesiest opening sequence in history), and the guys all have that old school "shoujo look". However, if you can get past this, you'll be treated to great orchestrated music, and an engaging story line that will have you hooked until the end. This is an underated, oldie-but-goodie gem. |

Just go back and edit some comments next to each title. 3 good sentences explaining what you liked in particular about each anime could be helpful for other people in their recommendations. Thanks. |

There's always the Encyclopedia. Should find some stuff there.
I've heard good things about Love Hina, though. |

Well if it's harem comedy you want there's obviously Love Hina. It's probably the most popular of them. There are however other good ones. As you listed Maburaho is a great title. If you want more funny, lighter harem comedy then I suggest Girls' Bravo. It's just hilarious and the girls are just...well they're just themsevles. One caution, there is top shelf nudity and it's got a 17+ rating due to it. Overall though a truly hilarious anime. If you want a harem comedy that also has drama in it check out Oh My Goddess or Ai Yori Aoishi. Both have comedy but it's more subtle and the drama helps pull the shows through. Oh My Gooddess is my personal favorite anime ever and if you check it out you HAVE to get the manga. The manga is where the shows shines. If you get the anime get the new series, since there are a few versions floating around. It keeps very closely to the manga.
For pure drama check out DN Angel, "X" (the tv series), Petit Cossette, or Kino's Journey. Dn Angel is a lighter drama with just a hint of comedy in it. A good over all series. "X" (my second favorite anime) and Kino's Journey. Both have a nice bit of action included but they both have very very well done plots and great character development. "X" is a touch bloody so be warned. Petit Cossette is almost all plot and drama. The story is pretty dark and so is the animation. The darker tones and colors though really help set the mood for the OVA and it's one you'll want to watch twice to make sure you understand everything. Hope this is all helpful |

I would recomend you not to spoil love hina by watching the anime, read the manga first, it has a complete story unlike the anime and contains far better character development. but the set back is the some of the wacky comedies are nore there in the manga, but you would definetly enjoy it better!

Well Love hina's story is complete if you take Love Hina again and the specials in consideration.

Whew, just marathoned the Love Hina anime and specials, and although it's a harem, it's too comedy oriented to be taken seriously as a romance. Love Hina Again was more romance oriented though, that was good. Overall, the show was good, but I just didn't really like it as much as Shuffle (maybe cause of the animation and the way the show was pulled off, I don't know). Love Hina is still up there on the favorite list though.

Sigh.
We are locking recommendation threads because there are too many of them and they are too low-content, and are of little use or interest to anyone but the person who posts them. Please use the stickied recommendation thread. |
