Last week i was watching the last opening of Inuyasha (angelus) and i realize that it was really well made the way they put the images together fit perfectly with the mood of the series right now. And most of the time i don't really noticed how well made an anime opening is. I especially like the image where they show kikyo pointing an arrow at naraku.
I also like bleach 1 op with all the colors it's pretty different from most anime op i saw. So for u guys what is the most well made anime opening? |

Someone is bound to mention this so I think I will first.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya probably has one of the most well-made openings I've ever seen. The way they organize it, plus the music, just makes it so addictive; I watched it every time. Add in the fact that the opening drops so many clues to the series, and you have one well-made opening. |

Monster is pretty cool, it captures the story and has great music, although as a 75 episode series with only one opening it can get a bit boring I guess.
I like the song and the style of Elfen Lied - its something a bit different definately. Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo both have openings which really reflect how the style of the anime is worked into it with the music and everything. Paranoia Agent also has a mesmerising and rather creepy opening with a really weird song which suits the whole thing pretty well. Oh, and Haibane Renmei definately suits the mood. Mmm, now that I think about it, quite a lot of openings are pretty good. |

It's not so much an opening, as it is an introduction scene, but to this day I'm hard pressed to find an opening for ANYTHING that quite matches Bubblegum Crisis.
Let's face it, when Priss dons her blonde hair and steps up to the mic with the Replicants jamming in the background, and Konniwa Hurricane starts pumping into your speakers as all hell breaks loose in downtown NeoTokyo, you can't help but start nodding your head with the rhythm and getting all riled up over what happens next. Not Rhythm Emotion, not Blazin' Beat, not Tank, Cruel Angel's Thesis, or Hemispheres have been able to replicate that sensation. At least in my book. |

I love the 3rd opening from Bleach. It was like an AMV made by a really dedicated fan. I love how they started with showing a number of the characters then go to Ichigo and fade with his 'Bleached' aspect. From beginning to end the music and animation gives you a sense of action and anticipation. I can't really explain it, but that opening to me just stands out. Plus, the music is Kick@$$.

FMA's Melissa, and Captain Tsubasa J's Fighting have a spot in my heart. Nice videos and sure hint about the story

Oh boy, I love well-made openings.
One of the most beautiful opening's I've seen is Escaflowne: the animation was perfect, and the song quite amazing with its celtic influence. Most recently, I was blown away by Ergo Proxy's opening: a little overdone with all the "filters" and stuff, but man, is it amazing. |

I love Elfen Lied. What's better than references of Gustav Klimt's painting and a classical style song before a naked girl decapitates people?

That's one of my favorites too. And what I really like about it is that it reminds you that the real characters are not who you're seeing onscreen in The World, but the people behind them sitting at their computers - something very important to remember. Haibane Renmei and Fruits Basket are also perfect for getting you into a slice-of-life mood. And the orchestral piece that begins Crest/Banner of the Stars is great for getting you into a space opera mood as well. |

Agreed. Enough said.
Definitely. I already thought Pride (GSD OP2) was a great song from High & Mighty Color, and then I heard Ichirin no Hana. Simply amazing.
Yeah, Obsession was unlike anything I've heard from See-Saw when I first started .Hack//SIGN. Some of My picks would be the Haruhi OP and the Bleach ED3. But IMO the most well-made anime Opening Sequence would be the OP3 for Blood+. The art looked pretty nice and slick, not to mention an AWESOME song to back it up (Colors of the Heart, by UVERworld). Simply amazing. |

the azumanga diaoh intro is pretty damn good too, can't help but laugh everytime I see it, it's so perfect for the show.

I also have to mention The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The sequence when she's running with the planets and people, colors, etc. swirling around her is amazing. That part alone was enough to make it one of my favorites.
Hmm, nobody has mentioned AIR? I see it being up to the quality of Haruhi (animated by KyoAni also). Personally, I like it slightly more than Haruhi's opening though. Music and animation are both beautiful. Gunslinger Girl seems like another very well made opening. I didn't particularly like the music (although it grew on me), but the animation seemed to be very nice. Probably one of my favorite opening would be Rumbling Hearts. Can't wait for it to come out on R1 so I can finally see it in high quality DVD format on my TV. I'm also tempted to mention a few renai game openings, since many of them are exceptionally high quality. I can think of ones that I'd put in front of all of these in terms of quality if I were to include them, but eh, guess they don't count. |

I forgot to mention Kujibiki Unbalance. The scene with the mushrooms flying around Tokino in the beginning is very cool! I also love the song

Hmm, UNDER17. I also forgot to mention that I'm hoping for a very nice opening for the new Kanon anime. Air and Haruhi were both great, so I'm expecting a nice one for this one too. |

Yeah, the Haruhi opening was one of the best. I loved the song and the animation was superb. Everything that Webki said applies to how I feel also.
The Ichirin no Hana opening is nice, but I adore the D-Tecnolife opening for Bleach. That has to be one of my favorite J-Pop songs now, and I loved how it applied to what was really going on in the series. All the animation portrayed points in the series, like spoiler[Yoruichi against Soi Fon and Ichigo against Kenpachi.] I also adore the second opening for Eureka 7. "Shounen Heart" is my favorite song at this moment; I can't get enough of it. I love the animation and all the scenes in the sequence. If there's one thing I hate about Adult Swim, it's that they cut out alot of the scenes from the intro, and they cut out all of the artistic parts of the second intro of E7. There are beautiful scenes with a waterfall, the LFO's hangin' ten on a lake, a nice scene of Holland facing a sunset, and scenes of the Gekko and a military airship firing at each other. It's a great intro, and is my favorite besides the Haruhi one to date (I also like the AKFG intros from FMA and Naruto, but that's mainly because of the music, so I save those for the Music Forum). |
