Just a heads up guys, the two pieces of software are very badly written. Its clunkly as hell and not intuitive at all.

I've been using PokeBank in Japanese. I've yet to see any clunky-ness. Makes things like that (especially with what I use my games for) much more worth it. Transferring Pokemon has gone smooth for me, too. It's region-free (the app, at least), so I can transfer from English games into Japanese games and vice versa. My X is Japanese and my Y is English, so I've been able to plop masses of Pokemon between the two without trading one at a time or needing two 3DS'es.
[edit] And now it's out in North America! =P
