Well, guess I'll spread the word throughout the forums about this...

Yes, it's true. Comipress reported yesterday the launch of their all new manga resource which is entitled ComiPedia and can be accessed here.

The encyclopedia includes information on Japanese manga publishers, magazines, comic inprints, and novel labels. Including, in some cases, a website of the subject being discussed. Comipress is currently looking for contributers. Visit them if you are interested.

I'll mind you that most descriptions at this time are not very large. But I guess you can understand that this is new. And new information may be added as time goes on.

Here you may post your thoughts about ComiPedia and some additions or improvements you feel would be more helpful or just contact Comipress.

The "Events" forum is for conventions or festivals; this is a link to a new online encyclopedia for manga.

The following is a current update in ComiPedia's development.

However, at the time I wasn't really thinking about all of that history. Actually, I hadn't thought about all the manga metadata that I had collected over the years. Sure there were years of manga read. Thousands of tankoubon and digest GNs are in my apartment as proof of that. But until I was reminded, by ComiPress' Shawn, I had forgotten about the reviews, the charts and the lists that were also a part of that. Shawn doing his own bit of compulsive obsession reminded me of the strange behavior that a few of us share with manga or whatever hobbies we have - the need to create that personal encyclopedia about what we enjoy most.


This can be seen on Comipress' front page.

Comipress announced today that the Preface was written for their Encyclopedia. Alright well, I thought I would just keep everything about ComiPedia up to date with information just incase anything sways your opinion on the topic being discussed.
