Keep 'em coming, NisiOisiN. More of this means more of the anime.

I'm hoping this isn't some "the novels may be finished, but the story of Araragi and the rest of the gang never ends!"-kind of thing.
From what I heard NisiOisin is starting a new project (unsure on this, cba to google it so I could be absolutely wrong) and with that the Monogatari series would end. With this message it could be the end or it could be that Nisi wants to write something else for a while and will continue the Monogatari series perhaps a couple of years down the line/whenever he wants to.
I'm really hoping it's the latter.

Might sound strange, but a continuation of this series disappoints me. I guess that thinking that the Final Season anime was going to actually be the end of the story has lead me to feel disappointed.

I'm a little disappointed too, not that I don't want more Monogatari. It's just that iwe know for sure Shaft will animated everything until the final season, but if more books keep coming we can't know for sure they'll be animated as well.
I guess I'll just have to get to read them eventually. I'll need to learn japanese first since it seems almost none of the books get a full translation.

As long as they sales keep up, we'll see it get animated.

I can't help but feel disappointed by this news like others here. I think Ali07 hit the nail on the head about how I feel.

I'm pretty torn on this one... I love the Monogatari series and I'm glad to see more. But I really appreciate it when a writer knows when to end the series. If its a spinoff or short story collection that's one thing but I feel like he should let it end.
I'm mostly just ready for the complete anime adaption...

I have enjoyed the Monogatari material that has been adapted to anime. But I rather see NisiOisin end the franchise with Zoku Owarimonogatari. Monogatari is long enough, and I do not want to see it get ruined.

Do you mean the one with the forgetful detective story?
I think it's pretty common that light novelists in Japan doing two or more projects at the same time, so it's possible that NisiO is doing both.
Anyway, cmiiw, I heard that when a light novel is getting a second season, it means that the characters will be mostly new. Only with same universe or concepts.
Maybe there'll be more interests if it is that way. Though I still prefer to see something new from NisiO instead of recycling quite long already franchise.
Sad thing is that if the sales don't go as well as 'the first season', then it means no anime adaptation, then meaning that there's no other way of getting in touch with them out outside Japan by the non-Japanese speaker, I'm afraid.

I really wish Kodansha Comics USA would start a light novel imprint and bring over the Monogatari light novels, since they are the american subsidiary of Kodansha in Japan. And not to mention Monogatari is under the Kodansha Box imprint but thats just wishful thinking since i hear that it wouldn't be in Kodansha comics intrest business wise given how niche the light novel industry is here in america, but who knows hopefully the demand is great that they can do it hopefully or vertical could do it. As of right now it's anyone's guess whether any of novels would see the light of day here in the states, but that remains to be seen a lot people keep mentioning that american publishers don't want to take a chance on it is because of the word play that the series has and that they would have to change meanings in japanese and make it work for a western audience, and since translation cost money and time it wouldn't make there money back.

More novels? My bookshelf is starting to run low on space!
I'll need time to read the last novel, but if it's any indication it will probably be to tie up loose ends since those were still floating around even during Hanamonogatari.
For those who asked, the Kanji for Tsugi here has a similar meaning for both Chinese and Japanese, in this context connection (as in bridging a gap).
