Hopefully being on the PS4 will mean an improved frame rate. I'm not one of those people obsessed with frame rate, but the first Fairy Fencer F's frame rate sometimes would be so poor it was impossible not to notice.
The first game was decent. The battle system was fairly good and the character were pretty entertaining. The story was kind of meh and the dungeons were lackluster (even Xillia 1 & 2's dungeons weren't this bland). I'll probably pick up this sequel but hopefully it fixes some of the weaknesses of the first game.
