Um because Pacific Rim has a heavy Super Robt/Kaiju inspiration.....there's also the fact that not everything on ANN has to do with Anime & Manga they cover live action stuff, video games, cosplaying events etc.

I for one am very interested in hearing news about a movie who's creator flat out said was inspired by classic Japanese giant robot anime and Kaiju movies. In the future you may want to avoid reading articles that do not interest you if the content angers you that much.

I think I can understand why this is here. The "Pacific Rim" movies are a grab bag of different influences from throughout Asia,the majority of which are anime and manga. So,it's not a big surprise,that it would be here.
