It's not that typical for magazine with shounen demographics to have a university setting instead of high school. That's like a one series to one hundred (or more) type of 'not typical'. Rest is also pretty unique, it depends how story will flourish to say if this is more of the things we got.
Sounds kinda fun, author can do really much with fish-catching setting, it's a proper sport but it can also become a gourmet manga if he wants go this way and it also have inclined romance to it, mc goes to this uni after meeting the girl.

The typical part is the fact that this involves a school club.
