I'm assuming that chronology of R.O.D goes along the lines of:
Read Or Die OVA Read Or Die Manga R.O.D The TV Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. I was wondering though where the recently released Read Or Dream would fit in? Does it have a certain spot that it fits, or does it just happen at any point before R.O.D The TV? |

I've only read the first volume, but unless characters from the other series pop up, it really doesn't matter and its just "some time before the TV series." It's probably only a short time before the TV series (a few weeks to a few months), so it would occur after the OVA which was several years before the TV series.
The R.O.D. manga appears to occur before the OVA, but the manga doesn't establish much context to help figure that out. Nenene's presence and the fact that Wendy is so young mean it has to have happened quite a while before the TV series, longer before than the OVA. However, the manga may have cuased some plot holes and may not fit well in anime continuity. It's been a while since I saw the TV series and much longer since I've seen the OVA, but I'm pretty sure there were some continuity issues. |
