Wow. I was thinking of going to the next Winter Comiket on my way back from SE Asia, but maybe I'd enjoy myself more going to a YOI Cafe and and enjoying relevant doujin and merch shops instead.
I'd be mighty annoyed by the campers being let in; I hope they fix this.

The lines are only a big deal if you want SPECIFIC doujinshi (and really, specific POPULAR doujinshi) before they sell out. If you just want to check things out and want to see what various items are available for popular titles, then you can amble in at noon and there's no line to get in. (altho the venue itself is still crowded as hell)

Thank you for the suggestion!
I guess what I'll do depends on how long I have in Tokyo as well as the date. If it's just an shorter extended layover then hitting up shops might still be safest bet. Or if I'm on the wrong day for the content I'm interested in, then at least I know I can fall back on that.
I do have at least one "wall artist" whose newest work I'd want so...gah to be so close! Well, first is to firm up the amount of time I'll have.
