This is very disappointing. The school years are the most boring and generic part of the manga. I wish he focused on doing more with the current stories with the adult players.

It kind of appears to be related with the new anime as a promo though

This is the third CT-related project this year. Is Takahashi trying to overexploit his greatest story because he's hiding some kind of bad news? Granted, he's turning 60 this year, but still, giving us another manga spinoff (while Rising Sun is still in the making), another spinoff done by another mangaka and a seemingly disappointing new anime? I understand that the World Cup is a great incentive, but a good amount of fans in Latin America think this is too much.
