Even if it doesn't win GOTY, I'm just happy the series is finally getting worldwide recognition after all these years.

GOTY is DQ11, MonHun takes the 2nd place. But it's not like those who decide the nominies and the winners have any idea what they are doing.

RDR2 is a shoo-in for GOTY. If they really wanna throw people for a loop, Spider-Man. But I don't think Monster Hunter has a chance in that category.
If they don't want to give every category to RDR2 and face the same type of backlash as Crunchyroll's awards, Octopath Traveler has a decent shot for Best Art Direction. |

I know for sure one of those are going that is going to win. It was what I was implying with the big budget American game comment. For me DQXI is game of the year for PS4 and Octopath Traveler for Switch |

glad DQXI is actuallt getting nominated (and not Devine Or. Sin 2).., since DQ got lower scores but is imo better (even if a bit "The 7 Sins" story wise inspired)..if DQ XI were just a tick more challenging..
RDR2 will ofc win Goty (since even GTAIV won it back than), but imo RDR2, GoW and DQXI are all equally good.. , with Octopath close behind |

I actually haven't played anything that released this year.
Just spent my time with Gravity Rush 1 & 2. I'm thinking of picking up God of War sometime... maybe Spider-Man when a Greatest hits version with all DLC included for $30 US releases in a year or two. I will check out the Awards for the new reveals - but mostly because I hunger for anything Death Stranding. |
