Very entertained by this show so far in particular the mind games and character chemistry between main characters.

Also hands down one of the best opening songs of the year so far.

While a good deal of the humor comes across as over-the-top and mean-spirited, many of the thoughts and feelings expressed by Kaguya and Miyuki are perfectly in line with those of lovesick adolescents.

I suspect that this is one of the reasons why Kaguya-sama and Tomo-chan is a Girl reportedly have such a significant shared fanbase: no matter how cartoonish or petty the characters get, everything they do, think, or feel spring forth from entirely believable teenage worldviews.

Great show and fun comedy. Should have been a 12 minutes short (or have more skits in a single episodes) already episode 2 had a quarter if not a third of it's run time dedicated to recap of the first episodes (did we really need to hear how much wealth her family has again?). The narrator does a good job, but too much of his dialogue is just explaining what's happening rather than letting the situation speak for themselves. Cut out some of that fat and you could have everything be that much tighter because comedy is "additive", if you just laughed at a joke your more likely to laugh at the next joke (that's why comedy show/stand up usually have an experienced comedian go first to warm up the audience before sending in the less experienced one), by keeping the downtime between joke as short as possible you make the every joke better.

That's a joke only manga readers would get. Basically after a few chapters, the manga changed magazines, and readers were told to think of it as a reboot, and the entire introductory scene was repeated as a result. The anime is doing what the manga did, and if you compare the footage you'll even notice that the character designs are slightly different, most notably with Shirogane. It shouldn't happen again.

the terrible advice he game his fellow student actually earns the young man the love of his crush, a girl who may have been bullying him.
Question about this. Was the ending to the episode alluding to the reason the girl asked this guy questions in the first place was, because she was trying to get information for her friend who did have a crush on this guy, like Miyuki kind of predicted and that's why the girl's friend at the ended showed up for a split second asking for advice.

Personally, I feel like those two comics belong to a sort of subgenre -- romantic comedy based on some really over the top ridiculous concept that repeats every episode/chapter. Another one I've not heard mentioned less often but is on a similar vein is the Lies of Sheriff Evans. The concept is this guy became a sheriff to pick up chicks and put on a super cool persona (hence the lies) when in actuality he's never dated and has no idea how to get a girlfriend. Somehow every chapter he manages to both mainstain his fake super cool persona and never get a girlfriend at the same time (even despite a mutual crush).

Man, this season contains a lot of shows that sound like they would be up my alley and the premise behind this series is no exception. The jokes has me chuckling multiple times in these first two episodes and the character design for Kaguya is quite pretty to look at. Fujiwara is a nice cast member to be involved (in various ways) in our lead’ schemes and the animation is solid as well. Also, is it just me or is the ending sequence for this series one of the best of the season? Feels like we’ll be in for funny weekends for the next few months and I’m all up for it.

I feel the show would be helped if the hyper pace was slowed down a bit and the moments and gags were allowed a bit more time to breathe.

The copious amounts of exposition about the thinking/scheming work reading the manga, but the show should show more, and not just info-dump the set-ups so quickly. It works when the characters are thinking quickly in the moment. But there should be a natural curve from when it begins with ease and then ramps up more quickly towards the end...

But anyway, it's still fun. But the direction/pacing could be better. Ah well...

When it comes to comedies that revolve around a central gimmick, the staying power of a particular series is largely dependent upon the staying power of its gimmick. While it's certainly possible that Kaguya-sama's formula will start to wear thin by season's end, the impeccable execution, sharp comic timing, and vibrant pacing of its first two episodes hopefully signal that that won't be the case.

You thought that weak gimmick was what would fuel the manga alone?
How cute.

This sums it up pretty well. And more generally it reflects a key aspect of making a ridiculous story work well: exaggerate aspects out to utterly ludicrous levels, but give them a basis entirely grounded in reality.

The ending is a reference to the Ghibli On Your Mark music video. Maybe a bit of Laputa thrown in.

Not just teenagers, either. The attitude of the person who loves more loses runs through the precepts of girls who follow The Rules type strategy as well as PUAs and those sorts. (The groups often hate each other despite or because of their similarities.)
