Solid review. I don’t have much to say other than I hope that you can review more volumes of this series in the future, Rebecca, because I enjoyed reading this one.

I do believe if that scene in the park had continued uninterrupted, Taiyou would have attacked Shio. He would have crossed that line.
In the anime, spoiler[I was quite afraid that Shōko would never leave Taiyou's room alive or worse when she saw Taiyou's shrine to Shio.] I know some would say that Taiyou wouldn't do that since he was imprisoned in the boss's office and raped repeatedly for days. Or that he saw Shio as being pure, and wouldn't do anything to sully that. But I saw the presentation of Taiyou as crossing into madness (or maybe the seeds had been there all along). His demeanor, posture, and words indicated to me that he was building up to a frenzied attack on Shio, to take her purity for himself. While a victim of sexual assault himself and not seeming violent, he was on a slow burn to doing that to Shio Luckily for Shio, spoiler[those thugs came around to attack Taiyou, and then Satō rescued her from Taiyou and the thugs.] |
