A fair review, I'm also a bit surprised that the first volume still doesn't offer any big hooks, rather unusual for manga. That said, I personally have a lot of faith in it because
1. It is top ranked in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi previous year, which has proven to be a reliable list that lists actual best manga since it's voted by professionals
2. I really like his previous manga And Yet the Town Moves, which appeal is also slow burn and mostly from the realistic character interactions, while also proving to be a very capable storyteller with how he is able to create emotional vignettes in 1-2 chapters. (I think the anime doesn't capture the appeal of the manga though)
As for that last reveal though, I don't have faith enough it will be done good enough to satisfy people with similar actual circumstance, but I hace faith enough for *you tried with good intentions* which is already better than most.

Just as a heads up to anyone who read this volume and got excited for what that last reveal meant: No, "Sis" isn't trans. The person in that body right now is her younger brother, who swapped minds with her for... some reason? Prior to the series. Said brother is also turbo horny for her and makes a point of masturbating with his older sister's body, because this is a weird horny series.
I'd actually completely forgotten this manga existed until I saw the review lol. I was initially really drawn to it for those Promised Neverland vibes but when it started getting uncomfortably horny and dragging out the mysteries, I dropped it.

OOF that's disappointing. Thanks for the heads up.
