Is that the first time we've ever seen Asuna's brother?
Maybe it was just my impression from the novels and the Progressive manga but it always seemed like Asuna pre-SAO had no friends and was fairly isolated/sheltered in her school life because of her family until she met Kirito and started to open up. That was one of the big changes that happened to her from being in the game. But this seems to be going in an entirely different direction courtesy of Mito.
Like, it seems like an interesting new interpretation of the material but I'm not sure if it really feels like SAO Progressive. And I have to wonder what happened to Mito in SAO that made Asuna never mention her now that she's been retconned in.

I'm not entirely sure if this is a retelling of the original SAO or if this is a story that takes place in a parallel universe which is going in a different direction because of the new character.
