Didn't watch the two series which inspired this collaboration, but it looks like this event is throwing in a few curveballs as far as ship equipment is concerned. Apparently Rikka has event-only gear which is more efficient when she equips them. The other event guests have specialised gear of their own, though not to Rikka's level.
The mini-game is a Tokusatsu-inspired Kaiju battle with the Manjuu twist.
