Did the first manga cover the whole first year? 11 volumes of manga for 14 volumes of the LN doesn’t seem to match up (most manga adaptations take at least two manga volumes per LN volume).

No. The first manga is still serializing. It's in the middle of content from Vol.5 of the light novels right now.

And then there is me, not reading the novels/manga and hoping that one day there will be a season 2
