Yeah these character designs frankly look awful, especially compared to the LN illustrations

It seems like they poured more budget into the voice talent than the character designs. I mean, I can't remember the last time Suzumura did something new. And Hiyama!? And Shinnosuke Tachibana!? This feels like a late 2000's Otome adaption.
Is Ayaneru like another Main Heroine in this game-verse the protagonist is in?

I saw the art style and thought "Maybe it's just for the male leads, to make them seem different". Then I refreshed my memory of the first key visual and.. yeah.. I forgot they had those bug eyes...
Looking at the trailer again, at least it doesn't look as bad in the show... (okay the girl's eyes are pretty bad but still)
