Loved In This Corner of the World, so I’ll be looking forward to his next film. Still waiting on the extended version of In This Corner of the World to get an English release…

I'm worried that they won't bother releasing the extended edition.

Is there anything important in the extended version? I still haven't seen it.
Nice to him make another movie and the initial staff list is looking very good.

Me too... if they were gonna release it, they probably would've done so by now. Still hoping!

I understand most of the added scenes are dedicated to restoring a subplot about the heroine Suzu's relationship with the courtesan Rin, which was important to the manga but was cut from the initial theatrical release to keep the runtime down. With that subplot cut, it does feel a little strange when Suzu is thinking of Rin near the end of the film, when we've only seen them interact once.
