It proved itself in theaters, it made its money, it will likely sell lots of merch, Sonic merch typically sells even when there aren't any movies based on it.

Being available on a streaming platform will do that to you. I’d say it had a good run and it’s clear Paramount considers Sonic a major tent pole going forward (mostly because unlike Top Gun, a Sonic 3 is feasible).

The movie is now available on Paramount+. I found it very enjoyable.

It really has held up extremely well. Even getting a nice weekend here even with the streaming option. It's done great and that's definitely deserved. They did a nice job with this one.
Will see if it can pull itself over 400 million worldwide (will mostly depend on Japan there), but regardless it has done nicely. Mostly just looking forward to seeing how Sonic 3 goes. |
