This was a unimpressive week, but there're some interesting details. The PS5 is about to cross 2 million units in Japan; Smash is approaching 5 million copies sold; NieR is doing alright for a late port, though it seems SE overshipped it; DQX offline is doing great on Switch (now I can't imagine DQXII not releasing on a Nintendo console, unless Sony buys the exclusivity rights). In terms of consoles the Switch is facing shortages, but I suppose Nintendo is trying to save some stock for the release of the new Pokémon.
Next week, it'll be interesting to see how well P5R will do on the Switch, many people were asking for a P5 port ever since Joker was announced for Smash Ultimate, though most of the requests I saw came from Western players, I have no idea if there were similar requests from Japanese gamers. I wonder how many new players this port can attract? I can't imagine people double dipping just for the portability option, I mean I don't know if that worked well with P3P and P4G.
