I wonder how many people even knew about this exhibition or would immediately attach the name Shichiro Kobayashi to the works he's created (something I'm still guilty of)? I really hope more people discovered it over the course of the weekend.
In any case, it was really nice of Anime NYC to put something like this up & for ANN to report about it for non-con/US residents. I could have probably looked at his work on Simoun alone for hours.

I brought Maid Sama(one of the last shows he worked on) when it was on offer just to see his art.

There were only 2 background art works for Simoun at the exhibit, but there were a couple for Adolescence of Utena. The exhibit was super nice! I only found out about it via word of mouth (my friend) and the organizer seemed interested in doing another exhibition next year at NYCC or Anime NYC.

Managed to get there on the last day. The place was smaller than I thought, but then I realized if I actually spend proper time with every painting, it is all fair. Met the man's wife, told her I have Gamba on "to watch soon" list.. She was surprisingly happy, but perhaps it's due to seeing people care for her husband's work.
EDIT: read the article and learned paintings from Cagliostro COULD HAVE THEORETICALLY been included. This realization is the only sad thing about the exhibition now.
