Maybe they use A.I and they won't tell the truth?

Nah, they're using lines from his past recordings, probably like how Persona's Igor appearance in Persona 3-4 anime and Persona 5 post his seiyuu's passing.

I think it's that's nice, but to be honest, as much as I love late Keiji Fujiwara, I always thought his voice just doesn't fit characters like Reno and Axel.

Reno's role after Midgar up until the the first half of Disc 2 in FF7 was pretty minimal anyways - Every scene with him present is basically optional.

Wow. I'm curious how it'll feel in the actual game, though it sounds like they had to cut back his role from the original a little to accommodate it.

Oh, that's a nice way to remember him. That makes me happy to hear.

I too was like "AI?" before reading the article but it sounds all on the up and up. I have no history with this game but I'm a big fan of Fujiwara and I believe his voicing for Reno was super popular in JP so I'm glad they're keeping it, even just for this game.

If this is true (and they aren't using, God forbid, A.I.), I wonder how much of the FFVII Remake Trilogy he's recorded. I doubt he recorded all of his character's lines before he passed, but I wouldn't mind being wrong.

Lol you guys seriously don’t know how early they record voice lines, do you?
How do you think they sync the lip movements?? Though this time, they used archive lines.

And the Japanese voice acting industry would hit back if you tried to do that, oh my god.
Restrictions are so strict around use of voice.

If they're going off the original game I don't remember Rude showing up much between Midgar and Temple of the Ancients unless you do the Wutai sidequest, but they already said Wutai won't be in Rebirth. I only remember his appearance at the mines after Kalm to introduce Elena and then the optional fight in Gongaga.

Fujiwara voiced Reno not Rude. So going off the OG game (and since Wutai is being moved to the third game), between Kalm and the Forgotten Capital, Reno's only appearance would be at the Gongaga scenario/fight. So even just going off the OG, Rebirth wouldn't have to use Reno's character much in the first place.

How is this going to be possible, especially 3 years after his death? Maybe they should also be using AI

Sorry but I do not have an image or keep with any Persona games to have some basic sense of time on them.
That is why I asked in the comments.
Have a nice day!
