Long overdue for this iconic game that had an impact on history that is the best selling FF game in Japan to this date. The records this game broke is too much to type. Also, it has the most iconic video game MC and female character in Cloud and Tifa, plus villain in Sephiroth, and iconic weapon as well. Deserved.

So it turns out that the Japan Anniversary Association is akin to Guinness world records, in that "cultural importance" is determined by whoever is willing to pay the 150,000 yen minimum fee (with deals if you're registering multiple days at once).
