A strategically pointless battle (should have been one of the occupied islands left to "wither on the vine") where out of the approximately 12 thousand strong Japanese garrison fewer than 400 survived (approximate 97% fatality rate). Crying or Very sad

Hopefully this will have a similar message and impact as Grave of the Fireflies.
