The series ended last month according to Tsukiyama's Twitter account. When I saw that it ended in a Manga UP! comment section for chapter of the series, I was mildly surprised, because it didn't seem like it was heading towards an ending. Overall, this series is enjoyable with good characters, but wasted potential.

Manga adaptation of a light novel ending much sooner than the novel seems to be a common occurrence these days. Even 7 volumes out are quite decent. I believe the novel is still ongoing, that's what makes such manga adaptation ends in an odd note.

So I guess the Blonde Hero that "defeats" him isn't the Main Heroine judging by the cover.

She kinda is, the narrative reveals that the heroine and Menas were childhood friends, and then something happens that leads to the heroine dying and Menas having to revive her and erase her memories of him. She still retains a fragment of her memories of him though.
