Uhh... I'm pretty sure WB Japan was not involved with the production of the SPYxFAMILY anime, but it's just me...

They probably will, unless Netflix/WB pay them off, but they'll push for Paramount's approval because 1. Paramount is owned by someone who heavy connections to the current administartion 2. Saudis are partnering with Paramount for the purchase So Netflix buying it was actually the BEST outcome of this situation, besides no one buying it at all. |

Canal+ recently acquired a major Satellite TV supplier in my side of the world and basically lost HBO, via their sister streaming company Showmax as well as all the WB channels.
Things are not looking good for them, not that I care since they've been a terrible company for the last 20 years. |

Netflix thinks they can outlast the current administration and get a friendlier one that will approve it. Either way with the networks being spun off Cartoon Network is likely living on borrowed time.

This seems to track with how major corporations are managed these days. Flail around trying to keep thing afloat until somebody else comes along to buy it, and the result will be less competition and no benefit to customers.
On this particular one, I'm kind of mixed. Less competition isn't good, but WB has been bungled ever since Discovery came into the mix. Maybe Netflix will surprise us and let projects that are done actually see the light of day and not delist existing content for reasons. |

I was not particularly thrilled about the idea of Warner Bros. being bought out by any company, but I know they have been struggling from quite some time and their time Discovery only made things worse, though ironically I'd say that in last few years they had varius successes with their movie division. Still, I guess Netflix was the least awful company that could have acquired WB, it would have been very problematic if Paramount were the ones who would've acquired them, same thing with Comcast/NBC Universal. But the thing with Netflix is that, with them being a streaming platform, they don't care about theatrical releases, save for being elegible for an award and they just recently announced that they believe that the theatrical window for movies at cinemas is going to get shorter in the near future, so I don't know if this means that WB. movies are still going to be released on theaters but only for a couple of weeks before they upload them to their streaming service. I aso don't know what's going to happen with HBO Max, don't know if they'll plan of merging it with Netflix in the near future.
I wonder what will happen with Warner Bros. Japanese division, they have produced some anie and live-action movies based on manga, and some of them like Jojo and Bastard! have actually been licensed by Netflix. |

Nope. TOHO, Shueisha, TV Tokyo, Wit, Cloverworks & ShoPro. Unless WB released the movie over there... Nope, that was TOHO. |

Just like they should’ve blocked the Paramount sale to Skydamce?
Since? Not before particularly the movie side of the company.
As fan feedback on this site has demonstrated at times having multiple companies in the same business isn’t too much better. |

I guess the one silver lining to this turd is that Netflix seems to care at least a little about anime/animation in general (even if it's just licensing shows Crunchyroll and other streamers already have) instead of being run someone like David Zaslav, a guy who openly dislikes it.
