Wait this manga was actually still going up till this point? So covered the whole novel series like the whole first season?

FYI, the anime only has one season, that was split into two cours, not two seasons. We're still waiting on an actual season 2. Common misconception most people make. (BTW, love this show, it's so good!)

Season 1 only covered about 2/3 of the novel give or take. The story from the anime's POV is far from over |

the real shock is that there will be an anime adaptation of GATE 2 and there wont be a season 3 for the original GATE! especially when there are no real legal means to get the source materials after sekai project decided to cancel the manga without any reason why.
though it pales in comparison to the kodomo no jikan manga which got the dirtiest F YOU after they reach their kickstarter goals to fund a global release of the manga only for the english publisher to do the exact same thing to that series similar to what sekai project did for the manga versions of GATE |
