A strong start. A romance between an invisible man and a blind woman (which ironically makes her able to detect/see him better than most) is interesting concept wise and them both being charming characters is welcome. A detectice agency in a world filled with all kinds of beings and races is interesting too, all kinds of cases can take place.

It was sweet. Not sure if it will be enough to keep me going to the end, but enjoyable enough to watch more. I've sampled 14 shows so far and none of them have blown me away. On the other hand, I've only dumped one: You Can't Be in a Rom-Com etc.

Low-key charm are the words that came to my mind while watching this show. It wasn't exciting or particularly funny, but it was pleasant.

I don't really get why the invisible man can turn his clothes invisible. If it's because his invisibility is the result of some kind of psychic ability, why can't he turn his skin visible?

I'm not sure it goes any deeper than "he's invisible so that he can follow people as a detective. But then we'd have nothing to draw."

I grant that having him walk around in a bathrobe wouldn't convey the same Victorian elegance...

I had seen the series referenced as coming, and I had kind of an assumption that it would be something with a little bit of charm, but if it is just about an invisible guy love interest I would probably lose my interest. But I was very interested that in addition to the fantasy people they had the female main character be blind, who was a surprise interesting element. So after the first episode I am more confident that I will enjoy the show.

Kudos to the show for making me think about what it would mean to be invisible and the downsides of it (good luck shaving plus possibly missing out on signs that something is wrong with your body). The episode made very clear that while invisibility can be a boon it also has downsides. Tounome's flashback was just plain sad. His confession after it made perfect sense since Shizuka is as perfect of a match as can be.

Otherwise the elf couple was amusing with the father possibly being a bit racist towards dark elves. Eating in the dark sounds novel but I imagine it would be an utter mess.

Looks like I’ll have to wait until later to watch this episode since the English subtitles aren’t showing up on Crunchyroll. All the other languages are working, but English isn’t even showing up as an option at the moment.

It took a long time for Crunchyroll to provide the subtitles for me too, Beltane.

I was worried - still am, I guess - that this show might not be a long term keeper because there's the potential for becoming bland once the initial charm wears off. It's not as if there's a lot of suspense in the relationship, nor does it seem likely to really develop the supporting cast to take up some of the slack.

But the second episode had a bit more verve and swerve than the first in my opinion. It was charming and like Smurky said, had some interesting plot points to go with all the cute. Enjoyed it.

Episode 3

Major kudos to the show for presenting a gay relationship in a non-hysterical manner. Anime doesn't have a great track record when portraying gay males especially, but this title is giving every indication it's not going to go down that miserable road. Now I'm curious as to whether Beast Girl has a romantic partner too. I guess we'll find out. The way Shizuka's mom "met" her daughter's boyfriend was classic Japanese embarrassment: seeing him pick a rice grain off of Shizuka's face... EEEEEEEEEE, COULDN'T YOU JUST DIE??? Cute show.

Yeah, the show/setting is very accepting (in a calm manner) of every kind of relationship. In way too many other anime do they feel the need to make a gay relationship completely over the top. The episode also provided more things to think about as to how it is to be invisible or blind. I appreciate it since it avoids those aspects feeling like cheap gimmicks. It also makes for romantic moments that feel fresh and different.

To me, the show is like an after dinner mint that I watch after I watch Sentenced to be a Hero, Jujitsu Kaisen, The Holy Grail of Eris, Champignon Witch and, yes, MF Ghost, and I don't always get to it on the same day.

It's not very substantial, but it's mild, kind of refreshing, and has a sweet aftertaste.

I agree that seeing a gay relationship that felt like a real relationship between two real people and not posterboards with legs or drama generators was cool.

A grounded gay relationship and now even the past romance having led up to said relationship being great too. A lot of other series should take note of how it can be done without it being awkward or over the top. The invisible lady case got pretty real in that it makes clear that you have discrimination to deal with as an invisible person. The lion president will make sure the scheming frog will never do it again though.

It surprised me to find out that the Invisible Man was a member of an entire species - I was expecting him to be the result of a lab experiment or something the way the original was. It makes sense that there would be discrimination or fear against a species that was invisible. For example, if one of them committed a crime - and if there's a whole species, how can you prevent a few rotten apples? - how could anyone prosecute them? Not only would it be hard to capture them, but how could anyone prove which invisible person did it?

In fact, if I'd been that vice president, I would be verrrry careful about pi$$ing off someone who could turn invisible by framing them. What a nightmare that could turn out to be.

Of course, this probably isn't the kind of series to have an invisible psychopath running around, nor do I want it to be. Just saying.

I haven't been sure that I wouldn't get bored with this series - there's not a whole lot of tension or excitement, and the romance is a bit on the sappy side, and the music and look don't stand out, and the characters don't have a whole lot of room for development...but I think the vibe is pleasant enough, and like Smurky mentioned in an earlier post, the show has done a good job coming up with scenarios to keep things from getting stale. Like the blackout restaurant, for example, or the introduction of the invisible lady this week, and so on.
