I don't understand, has this franchise ever gotten a death threat way before the concert or anything like that prior to that? Because I'm a bit more curious about this, I mean has this franchise received any backlash in the past, or had anything that caused controversies?

Having read a few tweets from the JP community, it seems like this sort of thing has been happening to events in general as of late, not just AiPri.

Has there been any ANN report or other sources (like maybe a Reddit thread) that can verified on this, because I never heard of anything or any controversies or any fan backlash over this franchise as far as I know when it comes to something like this.

Nobody heard about any threat against Kyoto Animation before the arson, I think that is what changed everything. Sooner or later, Japan is going to do something about toxic fan/otaku behaviour. I mean, someone is so deranged to threat a franchise for children, for God's sake.
But then again, bullying against actors, actress, artists… is "allowed" for the pettiest excuses, or if they failed to acknowledge what someone think its their entitlement.

Ever since the KyoAni tragedy, nothing actually surprises me too much. But it will take more than this for authorities and lawmakers to do anything about toxic fandom behavior. Entertainers are disposable after all, sadly. It will take something that affects common people for them to do anything.

Death threats and other types of sent threats are a sad fact of life. But the world moves on without you, if you stop doing things for fear of those threats.
If the FBI or NYPD tells you there is a conspiracy to kill you or attack your concert or convention. Then you have something tangible to worry about, and allies to advise you.
There is no cure, no law, or deep enough penalty, that is going to stop it. It has to be a societal change, where we raise our children to be better than that, but more importantly, be more mature so that they can resist all the temptation, moral corruption, and adverse peer pressure that our middle and high schools are a sea of.
Death threats and bomb threats are not going anywhere, and it is not solely an anime issue, not solely a manga issue, and nor solely a convention issue. It is a societal issue, that has no quick fixes. Now if you made it a mandatory 20 year sentence in prison, you might gain some traction, but that is not going to happen.
Many people in our current society only live for the moment, they do not think about the consequences that are sure to happen. How many times have you watched the news and exclaimed, why did they do that, they had to know they are going to prison for it. Not talking about normal crime, but those cases, were someone honked at you on the freeway, and you decide to turn it into Death Race 2000. Or when you have a small fender-bender and the teenage girl driving the other car, comes out to see how you are, and she gets blown away. Or teenagers dropping stones on moving cars driving on the freeway.
