This is a good civ building one, one of the best definitely.
Fun to see that they toned down the fanservice as it did not really have much of a place in the plot and was more of an artistic decision.

There is an unfortunate association with goblins and orcs in Japan as sexual deviants. Like much moreso then the occasional DnD Half Orc. And because most oktaku experience the doujinshi scene before becoming creators those themes get reinforced into the basics for Light Novels, Manga and Anime.

Personally, I wouldn't say unfortunate. Just storytelling. I like stories of evil goblins and evil orcs, also like dissertations of how great Orc meat tastes over bovine steaks. But I also like stories, like this one. Stories of the underground evil Dark Elves, and the 'fun' good Dark Elves.
Good that this is getting an anime, just hope they put the money and love into the adaptation.
