Maybe I'm imagining it, but it seems like we are seeing more sequel season confirmations from this season than usual.

Good to hear but man that’s a long wait. Fingers crossed for the manga to return before the anime does.

I wish it was sooner, but at the same time, it’s nice to get a release month this soon in advance.

That is indeed quite the wait, given how many anime never get a third season I should not complain though.

I think this trend has been going on for the last 7+ seasons.

I wondered if they were going to go the multiple-movie route for this arc, but I am very glad they aren't!

I’ll gladly take this six month wait for season three over the two year wait that we had between this season and the first.

Uh, it is October 2027, so 18 months.

Well, this season did have an unusually high number of high-profile sequels in the first place, and only one of them actually was in its final season. So all of them getting sequels has boosted overall numbers.

After the S2 finale, I thought for sure we'd be getting the Denken Movie or something by the end of this year. No S3 until Fall 2027? Oof. Well, I always prefer they take the time they need rather than rushing through production.

Too bad it's so far, but I'm glad it's already confirmed. Looking forward to it already =)

Yeah, I just noticed that! For some reason, I thought it said October of 2026! I guess my brain was so eager for a new season that it made me think it said 2026 just to keep me happy!

That Macht visual goes hard.
I think most people had expected The Golden Land arc would be announced and adapted in a following season, but it's still nice to get confirmation of more Frieren to come.
October 2027 is a mere 18 months away and all that time will likely be necessary for Madhouse to do the arc justice.

I too saw October and hope auto filled 2026 until reality sent me a wake up call. Shame it's 18 months, but it's well worth the wait. And hopefully by the time it comes back the manga will return too.

In between seasons wait seems to be longer these days? Maybe not since today, but like the JJK S3 wait from S2 was also quite a while, when they only released a single cour when it eventually arrived. I still remember the short wait between Apothecary Diaries S1 and S2, and they did 2 cours for the second season.
For one, it's quite a long wait, but also, the 13 eps in the case of JJK felt really packing a punch. I wonder if there's a shift in the way some studios handle production (following the fan criticisms of low quality animations and overworked animators in some projects). The longer wait could imply they'd have better preparations and scheduling (or even completing all the episodes animation before airing the first episode?)? Therefore the somewhat consistently amazing animations throughout the season? Like the rumor Witch Hat Atelier is already done with all episodes. I believe at least Ufotable and KyoAni already did this kind of production or things similar to this?
I could be completely wrong, it might be just because they have many other projects scheduled already, or there's also a possibility in waiting for the source material to have plenty enough chapter to adapt.
If the long wait is for quality and staff and animators' well-being, I'm down, but if it's because other things that eventually still make them worked their tears deadlined be a couple of episodes, kinda makes it harder to wait (chanting Witch Hat, Apothecary, etc. coming to make the wait easier).
